American sociologist Charles Horton Cooley conceived of personal identity in relation to our interactions with others, saying, "I am not who I think I am. I am not who you think I am. I am who I think you think I am." When we come to biblical accounts like Jonah, it's important we consider, "Am I what I think the Bible thinks I am?
