Join us at a new location Sunday at 10am at the Crystal Community Center as we gather for public worship.

Discipleship Classes

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

— Colossians 1:28

Discipleship Classes aim to cultivate our skills, affections, and knowledge through learning about God and his Word that we would be maturing followers of Christ.

There is overlap in the function of our discipleship structures. Because we value gospel growth, the Bible is going to saturate them all. While developing broader relationships takes shape in Community Groups, and deepening relationships are forged in Discipleship Groups—the aim of these classes is primarily learning. In his exhortation to the elders of the Ephesian church, the Apostle Paul held out his example of "declaring to you the whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:27). It is that objective we seek to advance by learning together.

Classes are offered at 9am on a trimester format, with breaks for Advent, Easter, and summer. See what classes are currently being offered on our calendar.

Discipleship Classes include ...

ADULT CLASSES

This fall, we have two classes for adults. Pastor Michael is leading the class "Stewards of Wealth," looking at what the Bible says about money and personal finance and sharing practical counsel how to steward resources well. Karen Peterson is leading a class specifically for women, "Helping Christians Become Like Christ," going through a curriculum that covers similar ground to our Churchman Fellowship.

STUDENT STUDIES

Young ladies in 5th - 12th grade are welcome to the Toneys' home for a study led by Kelina T and Kate H, learning more about how to study the Bible on their own by using Caroline Saunders' Better Than Life. The young men (also 5th - 12th grade) will meet at Beacon Academy led by Pastor Toby and Joas Y, going through Kent Hughes' Disciplines of a Godly Young Man and 1 Samuel.

KIDS' CLASS & NURSERY

A class and nursery is available in the gym for children 4th grade and under at the same time as the adult class (9am). The aim is to help kids grow in their knowledge of God's Word and a love for God's people through prayer, singing, Bible memory, and a lesson.
