Discipleship Classes

Him we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone with all wisdom, that we may present everyone mature in Christ.

— Colossians 1:28

Discipleship Classes aim to cultivate our skills, affections, and knowledge through learning about God and his Word that we would be maturing followers of Christ.

There is overlap in the function of our discipleship structures. Because we value gospel growth, the Bible is going to saturate them all. While developing broader relationships takes shape in Community Groups, and deepening relationships are forged in Discipleship Groups—the aim of these classes is primarily learning. In his exhortation to the elders of the Ephesian church, the Apostle Paul held out his example of "declaring to you the whole counsel of God" (Acts 20:27). It is that objective we seek to advance by learning together.

Discipleship Classes include ...

CLASS SEQUENCE

Each year, three classes will be taught for students (13 years old and up) and adults. This trimester format will include classes roughly twelve weeks long before breaks around Advent, Easter, and summer. A class from three categories will be included each year: Bible study, doctrine, and spiritual habits. See the calendar for the upcoming class offerings.

CHILDREN'S CLASSES

Classes will be offered for children at the same time as the adult class, making use of the "Behold & Become" curriculum produced by our members. Learn more about our vision for families and Westview Kids.

BEHOLD & BECOME CURRICULUM

The aim of our Discipleship Class curriculum is for children to have avenues to behold the goodness of God and become fitted servants for his kingdom. The local church not only has the opportunity but the responsibility to partner with parents to train and disciple their children. Learn more about and find resources for our curriculum.
